A IS FOR ASSHOLE

My Sunday was going so nice and well. The weather was great. I just did grocery and have stuff my fridge up with all things good and yummy. Zen was the all-around vibe.

Then Mary called to tell me I got me an FB account. She knew it couldn't be me but it had my FULL name and pictures and everything.

I knew who was behind it as soon as she described what was on "my" profile picture. Needless to say, I went all Carrie Rage on the culprit.

And I don't care if I over-reacted. I fucking don't give a shit if I appear to be the uncoolest person on this universe. If I wanted an account, I would have gotten one myself. It was in no place of his to set me one, fucking chibai. GRR. And when I confronted the jerkass about it, he gave this fucking Z-grade apology.

A says: (4:20:53 PM)
well f..

A says: (4:20:57 PM)
you may be a fren and all

A says: (4:20:59 PM)
and jolly and watnot

A says: (4:21:04 PM)
but today i know how far i can go with you

A says: (4:21:07 PM)
sorry i pissed you off

A says: (4:21:14 PM)
but at least now i know how far i can go with you

A says: (4:21:15 PM)
and its not far

A says: (4:21:17 PM)
so there

A says: (4:21:18 PM)
:)

A says: (4:21:28 PM)
sorry.. wun happen again

A says: (4:21:28 PM)
:)

F says: (4:21:51 PM)
well then im glad i got the msg across loud n clear

F says: (4:21:55 PM)
convo over

I'm still pissed. The nerve! I'm not even chummy with him in the newsroom. I swear to never be in the same room with him unless it's work context. NEVER. EVER. I'm so disgusted now with the mere mention of his name.

He can seriously go fuck himself and his subpar apology.

FIVE RECENT THINGS

One, I'm missing my parents every waking idle moment. Their absence has created this hollow feeling in my heart that is too profound (and emo) to even describe.

Two, I'm still crazy smitten by that boy behind the glass door I don't dare open. People keep on reminding me I have one week more to get myself together and make my move before the ship sails.

Three, work STILL sucks. I'm on the verge of throwing everything and just be a barista at Starbucks right about now. Whipping up a good ol cup of latte sounds very appealing in comparison to what I'm doing now.

Four, I'm kinda all over Ne-Yo's Mad at this point, and I am not even THAT into RnB to begin with. Been singing...

I don't wanna go to bed mad at you
And I don't want you to go to bed mad at me

... aLOT.

Five, I brought three good friends to the New Moon screening where we literally applauded, clapped and whistled when Taylor Lautner took off his shirt. Hum sup much! Most of the theatre did actually. I'm soooo team Jacob! LOL. BTW, the movie sucks if you're anything older that 15 years of age. My gag reflex had quite some practice in that 130 minutes.

Ciao, till next time.

GOOD TIMES

I took five days off of work. Today is Day Two and I'm enjoying every single minuscule second away from the newsroom.

Most of the time really became time for the parents. Their trip is closing in so I'm preoccupied running errands for them, have all meals with them, just kickback with the folks really. BTW, I learnt today that putting swarovski crystals on clothes is a total bitch and my mother is very hiao.

Funny how it doesn't upset me much if I'm doing the jetting off considering technically it's still time away from the family. Now that they are the ones doing the leaving, I'm kinda sad. Some kinda complexity that has to do with the fear of being left behind perhaps? Shrugs.

When they are off praying though (something they are doing an extra a lot of lately, which also would be top in my to-do list if I'm the one doing the heading off to the holy land), I've some me-time which I TOTALLY appreciate.

I took a toilet break, came back into my room, and saw that. Had to immortalize it of cos. A good image to reflect spot-on what I've been wiling my time with.

Finding guitar chords online, trying out new music, munching on Cheezels, blasting the long list of songs in my itunes, browsing through the lovely clothes and shoes on various shopping sites. Life is great and it's no wonder I'm growing sideways.

I love spending time with myself. I've missed me these few days and I'm glad we got reconnected again.

Here's to alone time.

SEZAIRI SIGHTINGS

Or the lack thereof rather. This week went by without a single encounter, brief or distant. How sad!

Saffy christened it such for me just now at work because I'm constantly on a lookout for him. The SG idols rehearse in the recreation club just behind the newsroom so when I pee in the loo, I can actually hear them belting out their tunes, which I must say, have been making toilet trips extra pleasant of late.

I've seen all of them in the canteen or around the premise but never Sezairi. NEVER. Once I saw him walking by my office through the glass panel, all chillax with his guitar slung over his back. BUT I was in the middle of a page and running out of the door to "accidentally" bump into him like that thins the believability factor by a lot no?

So straight from the scene out of Wicker Park, you'd see F walking around the workplace with her five senses on high alert like a freaking spider.

Once I was walking through the parking lot and at the corner of my eyes I saw a dude in a hat and specs just a couple of steps behind me so I could somewhat still catch him in my periphery vision and thought it must be Sezairi. I made a sudden "belakang pusing" ie a 180 degrees about-turn to face him. The non-Sezairi in question literally jumped at my very intrusive glare and scrutiny. Poor stranger was visibly startled by my Flash-esque motion, he must think I was insane.

How lame is I.

At first only handful of friends know of my current obsession/flavor of the moment. It doesn't help that they also fueled the like by crooning, "OMG he is soooo your type." (And seriously lor, he kinda is.) I was very discreet because how superbly tweeny would it be of me to be kinda crushing on a boy from a blahdy local TV show right?

-.-

Just now at lunch with the colleagues, the topic of SG Idol slid into our conversation so of cos, I need no stronger impetus, it sent me into a verbal diarrheoa. Suddenly I was happily proclaiming how I've been pretty much mimicking a predatory hawk trying to zoom in on him. Of cos I expected to be mocked at, that would be understandable. If I'm not me I'd be slamming myself crazy too.

Bizarre thing is, no one made fun of me but instead were being scarily supportive of the cause. One said, "Ehy yaaaa he suits you ah!"

The other replied, "Ya, very compatible! You like this kind, the look damn cartoon kind."

And one whose desk in the newsroom is very near the glass panel said, "Okay if I see him, I'll ring you on your DID. What you want me to do to stall him?? OH OH OH, I can run out and action fall down, then I can call for your help! How how how????"

-_______-

So it seems, my colleagues are as lame as I.

Honestly though, if you even know me you'd know I'm too big of a wuss to be proactive about it. Please. It'll be like taking the term Cougar to another level if I were to seriously pounce on him. LOL.

Shall we push this post and embarrass myself further? Okay what the hell.

I feel like I'm emulating Bridget Jones can. But while she sings, "ALLLLLL BY MYSELFFFFF / DON'T WANNA BEEEE", I'm doing this number (okay please only laugh at me this time and forget about it after hor?):

Alone by Heart. Except I'm singing it Glee version. Chorus goes like this (really, one time hysterical laughing and pointing allowed only!!!):

Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone

*dies of sheer embarrassment and major ass royal lameness*

And you know what, if Sezairi does this song later tonight on the show, I'm thinking it could be full-blown crush. One Last Cry by Brian McKnight. It's jie and my favourite emo R&B song la!!!

Nah, watch how good he is. EVERYONE reading this now MUST watch okay! Please?

Yes la, not very good looking la. Who cares. The talent more than makes up for it and in fact adds to the appeal can.

So cute la. Argh.

++Disclaimer: You know I would be over this as soon as the season ends so please don't make a huge deal out of it. This kind very transient one. Just you watch. I'm flippant like that.

NOSTALGIA

"It’s delicate, but potent…
Teddy told me that in Greek, nostalgia literally means the pain
from an old wound.
It’s a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone.
This device… isn’t a spaceship, it’s a time machine.
It goes backwards, forwards.
It takes us to a place where we ache to go again.
It’s not called the Wheel.
It’s called the Carousel.
It lets us travel the way a child travels.
Around and around and back home again, to a place where we know we are loved."

CLUSTERFUCK OF CONCERTS

At this point, I'm very worried about my financial situation. Really, I'm quite frantic I think I might break out in rashes.

So in addition to Cat Power and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, WAIT. Let's boast a little bit more on that.

It's freaking SOLD OUT la!!! Like completely! Even the 68 bucks seats! I feel like screengrabbing the specific webpage and frame it as a badge of honour. All that many people and I'm on the first row. *SMUG*

Coming back to where I was... Now the Killers are also making their Southeast Asia debut in SG. Faints. It's a must-watch-before-I-die thing so I'm pretty much screwed.

On top of that, my current album ear candy, the XX are coming to perform too!!! OMG why is SG suddenly so indie-loving?!! I'm so happy I want to slit my wrist.

Like Howie said, we might as well burn our wallets. It will be of no use to us anymore when we are bankrupt.

And I?

I will literally be the old woman who lives in her shoes.

Except there wouldn't be children running around cos I am clearly not Angelina Jolie. I refuse to subject kids to such poverty.

And I won't have just ONE shoe to live in. I have a couple of closets worth of shoes to live WITH - possible to stitch together to make me a whole quilt even.

I will be poor and miserable by my lonesome self - Amongst my many many handsome shoes and faded concert ticket stubs.

Come by and say hi.

BATTLEPLAN

I've got the seatmap from Esplanade printed and color-coded. The Sistic detailed seating plan (which is essentially a screengrab sent from an awesome friend) has been saved on the desktop of my Macbook.

My alarm has been set to go off at 8am sharp. Maps and password have been sent out and distributed to members of the coalition. Allies have been recruited and briefed.

Ammo have been prepped up to their top notch condition ie, I have fully charged both my Macbook and cell phone.

We get ready at 8am. Make coffee. Warm up. Do finger exercises. Lay out our weapons (ie seat maps etc). Browser set to said webpage.

Periodic refreshing will be executed JUST IN CASE the system screws up and releases the seats before the scheduled time at 9am.

We launch a three, possibly four pronged attack on the price category stated in the mission plan. Whoever gets the best seats, will get the tickets charged to their respective credit cards. Communication is paramount during battle. Contingency plans have been discussed and agreed upon.

More than a thousand over people have confirmed their attendance on FB. All for one cause: The Yeah Yeah Yeahs is making their debut in South-East-Asia. Karen O.

It's going to get dirty. It's going to be hell. I'm feeling at my most ruthless and selfish.

Game on, bitches.

UPDATED as of Wednesday, 11 Nov, 9.15am:

We came out unscathed. Unwounded. Victorious with Row A seats in the loot.

OMG!!! We can see Karen O's upskirt lor. HAHAHA.

It was the best team effort ever, I had amazing comrades in battle. Mich and Howie. I'm glad I'm on your side, together we were invincible. Hur hur.

On his FB last night, B wrote: "B knows ppl are sleeping now just to wake up early enough to make war tomorrow. Feels like module-booking day all over again."

And post-battle...

B says: (9:13:06 AM)
this is the most exaggerated concert ticket grabbing i've ever witnessed LOL

B says: (9:13:48 AM)
congrats, if i ever produce tv shows or movie next time, this is good material for my characters

He's not even a fan, not even going for the gig. Just roped in to help us hold seats. Hahahahaha.

As we speak, there's only single seats left for Category One and Two tickets. Feels awesome. I'm going back to bed now or go grab breakfast.

Love is a BATTLEFIELD-concert indeed.

PROJECT RUNWAY

Tim Gunn would probably scoff in my face for even associating this minuscule amateurish effort of mine to his show but whatever la. Fact of the matter is, I don't sew. I can cook, I don't sew nor grow plants.

One out of three. I say that's not bad already for a woman living in this era. Not all of us can and want to be Martha Stewart yunno.

I decided one night to zest up this ol' top I had. Two words: Shoulder pads.

A simple Topshop basic. Step 1: Text my cousin to find out where to buy shoulder pads. Yes I didn't know. Step 2: Buy shoulder pads from suggested cheena shop selling chapalang stuff.

This was how the top look on me before being subjected to my itchy fingers/hands:

Normal, droopy, drappy, boring. Bleah.

Step 3: Cut the hugeass shoulder pads cos I don't intend to look like a Power Ranger. Although having that said, I love Power Rangers. It's morphin' time! Heh.

Step 4: Sew shoulder pads to top.

And TA DAAAAAA!!!!!!

Don't be so kok, scroll back up to compare. But if your eyesight really damn CMI, here, another shot to emphasize the definitions.

I'm quite happy with the outcome. An angular, strong shoulder look is edgier but retains the simplicity of the basic item. I think I'm gonna do more of this wardrobe modifications, pretending I'm Christian Siriano, while my parents are away for their 30 days pilgrimage to Mecca later on in the month. I'm gonna be a good homey girl, pray for my parents' safety and not get myself into any mischief. Good plan? Yes, I think so too.

Shall wear said Version 1.0 with the following pieces tomorrow for work. My purple skinnies, also Topshop. Got it during sales. And that awesome pair of shoes which I got for ten bucks at the Zouk flea market.

*to be said in an accent ala Tim Gunn*

Alright contestants, work it. I'll see you tomorrow~

HALLOWEEN 2009

The Graveyard Party with Amanda Palmer was fuckin' A. Loved it! She opened with Radiohead's Creep on a ukulele.

Then she banged away on her keyboard with that crazy eccentric vocals. She's a talent, it's no wonder she's dating Neil Gaiman. Power couple much? She's great la, my new music love. And she took a picture with us too at the end. :D

Didn't go as a lego block, too busy to make the wearable. No time la seriously. So sad. Took the easy way out and came as witch. Easy peazy. Witch's hat courtesy of Mary.

My favourite Halloween shot of the night:

Me and Mr Pumpkin Head ie Howie, who totally pinched an accessory from Mary to call his only to feel more festive. LOL.

We walked over to the museum next door for Fright Night after the gig. It wasn't the least bit frightening and this coming from me, the biggest wuss ever in that specific area.

So we moved the party to HomeClub, where there were a bunch of people in different kinda costumes - PacMan, some Hindu god, the nurse-no-one-wants-to-fuck, Borat etc. It was quite a riot. If only the music was more up my alley.

Wish I'd come out and play in a more creative outfit. Next one I'll be brilliant.

Bye. I'm gonna work on 2010 costume starting today. Hur hur.
