I feel like I got to regurgitate despite the time. Whatev.
Just got out of Avenue Q today feeling ecstatic, with that little bounce in my step on my home. It made me happy, smiley, grinny as it has done before. I'm looking very much like the late Heath in his the Joker persona now.
Two years ago, I shared the joy of Avenue Q by very bossily plugging in the earphones of my iPod into any ears within my reach. Friends of mine, some of them, became victims of the Avenue Q OST.
So now that it has made its way to our island you can imagine my excitement. It's off the wall. The casts are not the original one from broadway but we didn't feel shortchanged at all.
And then of course there's this guy on the musical who I'm just swooning over right now. Massively, to say the least. Talent is such a turn-on.
He has to be gay though. Stats have proven that 99% of theatre guys are gay and the 1% are fug. He's certainly not fug so I reckon... Well.
Anyhoo, he is the first person who has made it THIS close into tempting me to set up my own Facebook account. Friends, left right centre top and bottom have attempted many a time to get me into the programme and I have resisted without much effort whatsover. But now, now I'm feeling the push. Haha.
I've been cyber-stalking him through the girls' account. I mean clearly that's what Facebook is for, so don't judge me. I bet you do the same too! He's the kinda guy I want to have in my pocket so I can take him out to cheer me up when it rains or when I'm down. Hee.

Apple should totally use this as part of its ad campaign. With some photoshoping clearly. Use a dog and the tagline could be, "I'm Mac's bitch, are you with me?" Muahaha.
It's on NYT, the screen. The boy's trying to look all smart I tell ya. I bet it was on Oh No They Didn't just a sec before this pic was shot. Ha!

I'm totally going to undermine all sorts of movie cred I've tried to build up over the years but I've got a secret I got to spill.
The one movie I watch all the damn time so much so that the DVD is under my bed so it's within easy reach is
Blue Crush.
I know.
It came out in 2002 and I tell you, if I was asked to pinpoint the start of my love affair with Hawai'i and my resilience to get on that island for my exchange, the film would be it.
It's not the story, I watch enough stuff, read enough books to know what makes a good narrative and this is not quite the box office hit.
It's the beaches, the waves, the surfing, the setting, Kate Bosworth's abs and biceps, just the breezy lifestyle really.
I'll give up anything to live like that, to live in shacks by the beach, drive around in a wound-down jenky truck or a vespa, party with reggae music for a change. I'll skip the working as a housekeeper bit but I'll waitress for money. I'll be in the water as long as the sun is up, paddling and surfing the whole day. Ahh the life to live for....
My housemate and I, we used to work-out to Blue Crush. We would lay our sarong on the living room floor, play the DVD, and each time the magic word "surf" is mentioned, we'll do 20 crunches.
After the 104 minutes, we'll be lying on our side, squeezing our tummy cos of the ache, but smiling. It is a good ache yunno... I'm not sure if I can describe it. It's like ermmm.. we've been laughing for three days non-stop?
Anyhoo, I'm talking about this now, out of nowhere, because I woke up this morning missing it, the waves beating down on my body.
I can still hear it some days...

This post marks the end of my sedentary lifestyle. I'm disgusted with myself. My fitness is so beaten up, it's embarassing.
How did I find out? Since I've been free and moving around at my own pace lately, I woke up happy and decided I was gonna do my sun salutation, yunno, some yoga.
Sun salutation, and I was panting slightly. SUN EFFING SALUTATION!!!! It's like freaking basic can!
Felt all stiff doing the downward dog and even worse doing the cobra. Cannot, cannot, this is not acceptable. I've had it.
Tomorrow morning, I'm dusting the cobwebs off my running shoes, tightening the laces and I'm gonna go for the longest run I've had since JC days.

That will be the title of the song I'd write if I'm one who's got enough patience and talent in me to write songs to begin with.
Anyhoo, I'm taking a short (and totally awesome) break from work for awhile doing nothing (ohh yeahhh... sweeeet), except shopping with mum. My tv shows wouldn't download fast enough, videos seem to just wanna buffer, never ever play, so I began my The Moffatts marathon.
And then, abit later on A's blog she wrote:
"Last night, F told me she was Youtubing The Moffatts and was shocked that Dave was in Canadian Idol (it wasn't this year woman, it was in 2005 lei I think!) So anyway, it reminded me of the very first time the crazy girl introduced me to The Moffatts. She actually bought a German (is it?) mag from IKEA with them on the cover and got super excited about it during one of our sec school assemblies hahaha. That's how the love affair with Clint Moffatt started...Fai adored Bob. I think that was the first and last time we liked guys (not counting Seth Cohen) who are so similar to each other (they were part of triplets). So dear awesome friend of mine, this post is sortof for you ;) If they reunite, I expect you to be with me crying/belting (you do the crying bit) over I Miss You Like Crazy k?"She then went on to trace where the boys are after the band disbanded. It's a good one, with video inserts and stuff. (Thanks ah, made me quite psyched! Haha.)
And yes, many many MANY years ago I bought a magazine in a foreign language I don't even understand because they are on the cover and I wasn't even sure who they were then. Which means that the girl-fan in me was crazy about them first for their looks, then their music. *ashamed*
At a glance, Bob Moffatt is everything I don't want in a guy. One time he had hair longer than mine and he's SKINNIER than me, which is a NO WAY blinking in billboard lights. But I dunno, I guess soon enough I was drawn to his quiet, very subtle demeanor. The shy one is always gets to me la.

And yes, that's Bob, not Clint. Like the hat, like the shirt. If I ever bump into him and only got time to say one thing, just one, I'll scream, "EATTTTT!!!!"

The one thing I dread about this festive season is asking for forgiveness. From my parents that it.
From everybody else, cool, I can handle it. But from the very people who brought me up, it's a been a major issue since forever.
I want to though, God knows I really really want to like throw myself forward and just apologize for all my wrongdoings, my snappiness, my smart-alecky attitute, my morning crankiness but this is when "Sorry seems to be the hardest word" should be playing in the background cos it's so darn appropriate.
Past experiences had seen me fumbling for the right words in a mish mash of English and Malay, trying to be coherent and not choked up. Then there's the smudged make-up from all the tears and I had to doll up all over again which infuriates my dad cos I'll be slowing the visiting down. I get all stressed up, it's a pathetic picture really.
Sometimes I wish I can like write the apology on a card or better still, text it to their cell.

It's one of those days.
A day that started out pretty good and then shifted gear, spiralling downhill.
A day when you had to tell yourself to not cry, not in public, not at work especially, remind yourself that you're made of sterner stuff.
A day when it rained and you somehow wish it wouldn't stop even though you're shivering in the cold and soaked halfway down your calves as it is.
But the falling raindrops make it comforting. Like it's okay to be sad, like you're expected to be.
I shouldn't feel like this. Not on the eve of Eid.
